Terms of Service
Last updated: 2 September 2026
1. About these terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the PointPDF website, applications, and services (together, the "Service"). The Service is operated by Pordix Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17089188), whose registered office is at 187 Lancing Road, Sheffield, England, S2 4EW ("Pordix", "we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account, or by accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.
2. Definitions
"Content" means any file, document, image, or other material you upload to, or generate through, the Service. "Account" means the account you create to access certain features. "Plan" means a free or paid subscription tier. "API" means the PointPDF application programming interface.
3. The Service
PointPDF lets you redact ("blur") sensitive information in documents, convert files between supported formats, and access these capabilities programmatically through our API. Features available to you depend on your Plan. We may add, change, or remove features at any time.
4. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, and able to form a binding contract, to use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to bind that organisation to these Terms.
5. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date. Notify us at support@pointpdf.com if you suspect unauthorised use of your account. You may sign in using Google; your use of Google sign-in is also subject to Google's terms.
6. Plans, billing and cancellation
The Service offers a free Plan and one or more paid Plans. Paid Plans are billed in advance through our payment processor, Stripe, on a recurring basis until cancelled. By purchasing a paid Plan you authorise us (via Stripe) to charge your payment method for the applicable fees, which renew automatically unless you cancel before the renewal date. You can cancel at any time from your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and, except where required by law, fees already paid are non-refundable. We may change our fees on reasonable notice.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to: (a) upload or process content that is unlawful, infringing, or that you do not have the right to use; (b) violate the privacy or rights of others; (c) attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other accounts, or our systems; (d) disrupt or overload the Service, including exceeding published API rate limits; (e) reverse engineer, resell, or misuse the Service except as permitted by these Terms; or (f) use the Service for any unlawful or harmful purpose.
8. Your content
You retain ownership of your Content. You grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, process, and transmit your Content solely to provide the Service to you (for example, to perform a redaction or conversion). You are solely responsible for your Content and for ensuring you have the rights to upload and process it. Uploaded files and their processed results are automatically deleted within 24 hours of processing.
9. Redaction disclaimer
The redaction ("blur") features are provided to help you obscure information, but automated redaction may not detect or remove all sensitive information, and results depend on the input you provide. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying every processed document before relying on or sharing it. We do not warrant that redaction is complete, irreversible, or suitable for any particular compliance requirement.
10. API
If you use the API, you must keep your API keys secret, comply with any rate limits and usage limits associated with your Plan, and not use the API in a way that harms the Service or other users. We may suspend or revoke API access for breach of these Terms.
11. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, and branding, is owned by Pordix Limited and its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the rights expressly granted to you, we reserve all rights in the Service. "PointPDF" and associated logos are our marks and may not be used without our permission.
12. Third-party services
The Service integrates third-party services, including Stripe (payments), Google (sign-in), and others. Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for third-party services.
13. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the Service at any time. We may update these Terms from time to time; if we make material changes we will take reasonable steps to notify you, and your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
14. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
15. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pordix Limited will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Subject to the paragraph above, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or £100.
16. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Pordix Limited against any claims, losses, or expenses arising from your Content, your use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms.
17. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or if we reasonably consider it necessary to protect the Service or other users. On termination, the licences you granted us end, subject to our routine deletion timelines.
18. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory local law provides otherwise.
19. Contact
Questions about these Terms can be sent to support@pointpdf.com, or by post to Pordix Limited, 187 Lancing Road, Sheffield, England, S2 4EW.
